Mona came to live with us on a cold rainy January day. Dad was over trying once again to steal JJ from Becky deLeon. She told him that he wasn't there, but that she had a bitch he could take home if he wanted. So he looked this little blue bitch over and then went and had Mom do the same. I was in the ring, and when I came out they asked what I thought. My first thought of course was WOW, look at the copper!!! Mom told me that she could be my new junior handling dog if I wanted her, I think I squealed. At that time, Mona was 6 months old and scared of everything. We took her home a worked with her to get her confidence up. About 45 days later mom took her in the ring for the first time under Sr. Breeder Judge Ginger Aries. We couldn't believe it when she won Reserve Winners Bitch. I started showing her in junior handling and in her regular class soon after that. By October of that year she was finished with 3 five point majors and we were headed to her first Nationals. At the last pre-show using the 3 judge system (including Marks Walsh who had given her a RWB, and Ginger Aries) we got our first Premier Champion. I was very excited!! Mona and I were also very successful in the junior's ring. We placed in the Nationals Junior Handling Finals and were 1st in our Region my last year as a junior year with very tough competition. In 1996 the family moved to Las Vegas, NV. Mona and I began training in obedience under Dee Buckles and within 6 months we got our first leg and went HIgh in Trial. When we were presented with the award several people were very shocked to see us there, as we really hadn't told most people what we were up to. Shortly after that I moved back to Los Angeles and Mom began training her in agility. We began our agility career at the 1st Greeley Nationals and from there we went on to earn our Novice titles and were almost done with our Open titles when we had to stop trialing. In October of 2000 once again under Ginger Aries my 3 year old god-daughter Madison Prieto took her in Pee Wees. This had been a goal of mine from before she was born. If we had only known at the time that this would be her last day in the show ring. I would like to thank all of the people who supported Mona and I while she was here. I would especially like to thank Becky de Leon for letting her come to us and to judges Ginger Aries and Judy Norris who were there for every milestone. I think of her everyday when I look into the eyes of her children and her grandchildren.

                                                                    I love you always Beans!!!
